I do believe the beauty market has done a fabulous job convincing us to buy there beauty products at the promise of beautiful, dewy, younger looking skin. But if you investigated into the ingredients a lot of these miracle creams and potions can be made at home and are just as effective if not better, and they are far better for your skin as they do not contain the chemical's that store purchased goods require to keep a longer shelf life.
Below is a list of different versions of glycolic peels you can make at any time at home with just the items in your pantry and fridge.
Fruits listed below contain AHA's which dissolve protein (dead skin cells). Lemon can act as a skin lightener helping rid of age spots or freckles as it is a natural bleaching agent.
Cane Sugar or caster sugar is a mild chemical exfoliant and is able to penetrate and loosen the surface layer of skin, generating new skin cell growth.
Coconut oil can soften appearance of fine lines while being intensely hydrating for the skin too. It keeps the skin's connective tissues strong, which prevents sagging and wrinkles.
Yoghurt also dissolves dead skin cells as well as providing nourishment.
Combine the ingredients together to make a paste. Apply to you face and neck area avoiding the eyes and don't forget the décolletage area too. Leave on the face for 20-30 minutes. Repeat this application every week or two until the desired affects occur.
Combine egg white, lemon juice, water, and almond bran and mix thoroughly. Apply to face (I use an egg brush) and leave on the face for 20-25 minutes or until completely dried. Avoid eye area. Peel off and continue with your beauty routine.
Removal of dead skin cells and improving an even skin tone. Lightening of freckles and age spots.

OK so why this first?
I have added 1 Tablespoon of lemon to this mix a lot as I like to lighten my skin and get rid of my freckles. It is one of those recipes that you can experiment with different natural products that help with a multitude of remedies.
It is a well known, tried, tested and loved recipe. Don't waist your money on pore strips or chemically filled peels. This one is a no brainer so a very easy option for my first blog entry.
Be fair warned I endeavour to try and test as many natural remedies as possible and blog my reviews on each. Just recently I tried to remove hair from my arms using a turmeric mix. Now unless I was doing this all wrong it was an epic failure for me. For days I was picking up bits of turmeric balls that had magically walked through my house and had to walk around with bright orange elbows. But that may be for another blog.
Thanks for reading and happy peeling!!
My Beauty page is simply a collection of home made natural beauty products that I have found and collected over time. With so many now taking up space I have decided to store all my favourites in the one place whilst sharing with those who share a passion for making things naturally at home.
